2026 Beginning Burlesque Class
The BOB at the Palm Theatre
Telluride, CO 81435
How to get there
Telluride Theatre & The House of Shimmy Shake present
Beginning Burlesque Class - $400
Burlesque is a celebration of femininity, the weird & wild and letting it all go. The class is a fun-filled journey into this incredible art form, ultimately empowering women's creative, sensual, feminine beings. Telluride Theatre's own Sasha Cucciniello & Melissa Sumpter who have been teaching burlesque for over 14 years, guide new students through the world of burlesque. Starting with the basics – history, dance moves, striptease, creating a character, and owning your space. Students then develop their very own burlesque character and walk away with a full routine and a set of pasties.
At the close of the class, students have the option to perform at BURLESQUE, a live variety show on the Sheridan Opera House stage at the end of March. (Performing at this Telluride Theatre benefit event is optional.)
A few things:
- Open to women and women identified ages 21+
- You must be able to attend all 8 classes. (emergencies, illness obviously permitted)
- Students planning to do the AIDS Benefit cannot do both (you will miss too much time & will not be able to make it up)
- For tuition assistance/payment plan/scholarship options please email melissa@telluridetheatre.org
- New this year! 8 weeks of class (we have done 7 in the past)
OTHER THINGS TO CONSIDER - full transparency
- The March Cheap Thrills show is a fundraiser for Telluride Theatre. If you choose to participate, this is part of the performance process.
